Where hope rises...

Welcome to Sunwell Counseling - We're so glad you're here.

At Sunwell Counseling, we believe healing begins in a space where you feel seen, understood, and accepted - exactly as you are. Whether you're navigating a difficult season, working through past experiences, or simply hoping to better understand yourself, we're here to walk alongside you.

Therapy isn't about having all the answers; it's about creating space to discover them together. Our approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices like EMDR and the Gottman Method. We believe meaningful change happens through genuine connection, and we're honored to be part of that process with you.

Choosing a therapist is a meaningful investment in yourself, and finding the right fit matters. We invite you to explore our practice, get to know our clinicians, and reach out with any questions. Whenever you're ready, we'll be here to welcome you.

Portrait of Courtney Chott

About Courtney Chott, LCSW

Hi, I'm Courtney.

With over a decade of experience in mental health, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges while also teaching, mentoring, and supervising future clinicians.

I believe healing begins with feeling safe enough to be fully yourself. Together, we’ll explore the experiences that have shaped you and work toward a life that feels more connected, intentional, and true to who you are. My approach combines evidence-based therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy, with genuine connection and compassion.

I’ve also had the honor of serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work since 2022.

About Jason Kriese, LSW

Hi, I'm Jason.

I’m a licensed social worker who is passionate about helping others, especially young adults and professionals, to navigate life’s difficulties and foster durable resilience.

I spent 25 years working in the technology industry prior to my training as a therapist, so I am deeply familiar with professional stresses and what it takes to work through them.

In therapy, I use research-based practices to guide our conversations and promote healing. I offer a judgement-free space and encourage you to come as you are.
